These Frozen Lemon Ginger Cubes are a quick and convenient way to enjoy a zesty, warming drink. They are easy to make and perfect to have on hand during the winter cold and flu season.
Wash the outsides of the lemon and orange well. Then, cut each into quarters.
Add the quartered lemon and orange to a high speed blender along with the honey, fresh ginger, olive oil, salt, fresh turmeric, cayenne pepper, ground black pepper and 3/4 cup water.
Blend on high speed until combined and the lemon / orange / ginger / turmeric have broken down.
Optional: Strain the liquid mixture using a strainer or nut milk bag, removing the pulp solids.
Pour the liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze for at least 8 hours or until frozen.
To enjoy, place 1-2 ice cubes in a mug and pour over hot water for a wonderful drink.
Notes
While we love to enjoy these with a bit of hot water for a nourishing drink, you could also dissolve a few in water for a cool drink.
Keep a batch of these ice cubes in the freezer during cold & flu season!
