❤️ Why You’ll Love This Apple Juice Recipe

  • Healthy: This apple juice recipe is made with literally 3 ingredients, one of which is water. It’s good for you and tastes great.
  • Flavorful: This homemade apple juice doesn’t even compare to the stuff you buy at the grocery store. It’s so much better and tastes like real apples.
  • No Preservatives: Just pure, natural ingredients without any artificial additives or chemicals.

🍲 Ingredients

Autumn Glory® Apples: Autumn Glory® apples are honestly so delicious. They are a unique variety that is sweet and crisp with hints of cinnamon and caramel. They make the perfect apple for homemade apple juice or other apple recipes like apple sauce. Their natural sweetness means you need minimal additional sweeteners, and their complex flavor profile creates an incredibly rich, satisfying juice.

Cinnamon: The only other ingredient in this apple juice recipe is cinnamon, which not only pairs so well with apples, but it also contains powerful medicinal properties. It’s loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, making it an easy spice to add to a variety of dishes, including stews, juices, smoothies, and baked goods. Just a pinch transforms ordinary apple juice into something that tastes like liquid apple pie.

👩‍🍳 How to Make This Apple Juice Recipe

  1. Add chopped apples to a high-speed blender with the dates, cinnamon, and water. Blend until fully combined.
  2. Pour the apple juice into a nut milk bag or muslin cloth and use your hands to squeeze it, getting out as much juice as you can into a bowl or jar.
  3. The juice will last up to 4 days in the fridge in an airtight jar or container.

🪄 Tips and Tricks

  • Apple Prep: Core the apples but leave the skin on for extra nutrients and natural pectin.
  • Straining Technique: Take your time straining – the more you squeeze, the more juice you’ll extract.
  • Chill Factor: Serve over ice or refrigerate for at least an hour before drinking for the most refreshing experience.
  • Fresh is Best: This juice tastes best within 24 hours of making it when flavors are at their peak.

🗒 Variations

There are so many things you can add to this juice to make different juices that are so tasty. Here are some fruits you can add to the blender and experiment with:

  • Tart Balance: Apples balance tart fruit like cherries or cranberries beautifully.
  • Berry Blends: Berries can be a great addition too like strawberries for a pink-hued juice.
  • Citrus Fusion: Apple-orange juice can be the best of both worlds plus an added dose of vitamin C.
  • Tropical Twist: Try adding pineapple or mango for a delicious flavor combination.

🗒 Substitutions

  • Apple Varieties: If you cannot find Autumn Glory® Apples you can use other apple varieties. Red Delicious, Fuji, Golden Delicious, or Gala apples all will be good choices for a sweeter apple juice.
  • Spice Options: Cinnamon isn’t a necessity in this recipe and you can not include it at all if you prefer. Try nutmeg or ginger for different warming flavors.
  • Natural Sweeteners: If your apples aren’t sweet enough, add a date or two, or a drizzle of honey to taste.
  • Citrus Boost: A squeeze of lemon juice helps preserve color and adds brightness.

👝 How to Store Leftovers

Leftover juice will last up to three days in the fridge in a sealed container or mason jar. Remember, the juice you buy at the grocery store lasts so long because of preservatives. This is the real deal, so it won’t last as long! Give it a good shake before drinking, as natural separation is normal.

🤔 Common Questions

Do you need a juicer to make apple juice?

Not at all! You can use a high-speed blender to make fresh juice and use a cheese cloth or something similar to strain out the pulp.

How do you stop apples from going brown?

You can prevent cut apples from going brown by squirting lemon juice on them. You can also freeze sliced apples to use in baking.

Can I make this without dates?

Absolutely! The dates just add natural sweetness. If your apples are sweet enough or you prefer less sweet juice, feel free to omit them entirely.

How long does homemade apple juice last?

Fresh homemade apple juice stays good for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. It doesn’t contain preservatives like store-bought juice, so it has a shorter shelf life but much better flavor.

Can I freeze apple juice?

Yes! Freeze in ice cube trays for individual portions or in freezer-safe containers for up to 6 months. Thaw in the refrigerator and shake well before drinking.

Can I add vegetables to apple juice?

Definitely! Carrots, beets, or ginger blend wonderfully with apples and add extra nutrients. Start with small amounts and adjust to taste.

Gonna try this recipe and another tip to keep apples from turning brown is to add a good sprinkle of salt to a bowl of water and as you chop the apples, add them to that water.
