This amazing fish marinade is one of my go-to recipes to have in my back pocket when I need something quick to make a flavorful dish. 🐟

This is seriously the best fish marinade. It’s loaded with fresh herbs and has a little pop of creaminess with the Greek yogurt. It’s simple, it’s healthy, and it’s something to have in your back pocket when you want to jazz up your fish.

Greek Yogurt – Greek yogurt should be a staple in your fridge. It can be used in so many ways. It can make recipes creamy, and it’s great on its own, in smoothies, in dressings, and marinades. It can be a healthier, protein-packed swap for things like mayo or sour cream.

Fresh Herbs – What makes this recipe so tasty is the fresh herbs. I used mint, basil, and parsley in this recipe. You can always swap for whatever combination of herbs you have on hand or prefer.

👩‍🍳 How to Make Fish Marinade

  1. Make the marinade by whisking together Greek yogurt, mint, parsley, basil, salt, pepper, olive oil, garlic and minced onion flakes. Use to marinate your favourite fish like salmon or trout or a mild white fish like cod or halibut.
  2. Spread the marinade over the fish in a shallow baking dish or zip top bag, marinate for an hour in the fridge and then bake on a baking sheet according to the right temperature for the fish chosen. For salmon or trout, we like to cook at 350-375F until cooked to desired doneness.
  3. Make the marinade ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to 1 day.

  • Use this marinade on other things like chicken, or plant-based proteins like tofu

  • Greek Yogurt: You can make this fish marinade without Greek yogurt. Use sour cream instead
  • Fresh Herbs: Use whatever combination of herbs you like. This can be good with cilantro as well or just use one, two, or all three of the herbs mentioned below

👝 How to Store Leftovers

You can store this marinade in a jar in your fridge for up to 3 days. However, the olive oil may solidify in the fridge so take it out of the fridge and leave on the counter for about 15 minutes before using.

Since fish is very delicate, you don’t need to marinate it for long. Maximum an hour, but even 15-30 minutes can help.

Yes, that is correct. 1 tsp of salt has 2300 mg of sodium
