  • Great for Hosting: If you’re hosting a get-together this holiday season, this cheese bread makes for a great app or side

Ingredient Notes:

Cheese: I used a combo of mozzarella and cheddar for this recipe but you can use any cheese here as long as it’s a cheese that’ll melt.

Whiskey Alternative: For this mocktail I created, I used a whiskey alternative from Ritual Zero Proof. This whiskey has the oakiness, smoky, and caramel flavors you love in a whiskey but without the alcohol or calories. This is a great alternative to making classics like old-fashioned, whiskey sours or smashes like the below recipe.

How to make cheese bread:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F. Cut the bread in a 1 inch grid pattern and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl mix together the softened butter, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, ground pepper and mayonnaise until combined.
  3. Using a spoon or small spatula, insert the mayo-cheese mixture into the cracks of the bread.
  4. Cover the entire loaf with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and melted. Garnish with fresh rosemary & oregano and pinches of coarse salt and chili flakes.
  5. Enjoy immediately!

How to make a whiskey mocktail:

To a cocktail glass add an orange slice and the maple syrup. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to muddle for 15-30 seconds to release the juices from the orange. Add in crushed ice, lemon juice, and Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey Alternative and stir to combine. Garnish with orange peel, fresh rosemary, and garnish.

Expert Tips & FAQ:

Want to substitute for a different type of cheese? Think of using other melty cheeses like provolone, gruyere, fontina, or other favorite cheddar cheeses.
