Peanut sauce is such a staple to have in your back pocket. Widely used in different cuisines around the world, this sauce has a variety of different uses, from adding it to salads, sandwiches/wraps, poured over vegetables, or as a dipping sauce. What I love about this sauce is how versatile it is. Whip up a batch and keep it in your fridge to use to add flavour to any dish. Plus, it’s super family-friendly. Everyone loves a creamy peanut sauce.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • It’s easy to make and will only take you a few minutes to whip up a batch
  • It’s versatile and can be used on any dish your heart desires
  • It’s creamy and flavourful
  • The whole family will love it as a healthy alternative to store-bought sauces

How to make Peanut Sauce

It’s actually so easy to make the peanut sauce. So many of us take the lazy way out of making sauces and buy in-store. However, the store-bought sauces are often loaded with preservatives, sugar, sodium, and ingredients you can’t pronounce. What I love about making my own sauces is that I know exactly what is (and isn’t) going into them and you can feel less guilty about using as much (or as little) as you want!

To make this sauce, all you’ll need to do is simply add all your ingredients into a jar and shake it all up until it’s well combined. Since the peanut butter maybe a little chunky, you may need to use a fork to stir the sauce to smoothen it out. Set the sauce into the fridge for about 15+ minutes to let it sit and get to the perfect consistency.

What really brings the flavour to this Vegan Peanut Sauce is not just the obvious peanut butter, but the other ingredients such as:

  • Spicy sesame oil
  • Lime juice
  • Tamari
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Sambal chilli paste

These ingredients give a little zing to the sauce and make it even more flavourful. I love adding this sauce onto my Collard Summer Salad Rolls that I often whip up for lunch, or a healthy dinner.
