It’s the new year and it’s time to get back into our routines. One of my favorite things to make for a quick, and easy breakfast is a smoothie. Smoothies are so easy, you can make so many variations, and they are a quick way to get some nutrients into your body first thing in the morning or when you need a pick-me-up in the middle of the day. This carrot cake smoothie recipe is an easy smoothie recipe to try this year for a healthy, clean breakfast.

Ingredients for carrot cake smoothie

Ingredient Notes:

Carrots: Carrots are full of fiber, vitamin A and beta-carotene. They can also help strengthen your bones with calcium, and vitamin K. They are also easy and cheap to get no matter what the season.

Ginger: Ginger is loaded with antioxidants and can help your body stay healthy. Ginger is also calming on your stomach and is so flavorful.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts: One of my go-to ingredients in any smoothie is hemp hearts. I use Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts which are all-natural and full of plant protein. On top of the protein, they also are loaded with things like Omegas 3 and 6, all 9 essential amino acids, and vital nutrients like magnesium, fiber, zinc, and iron. They are so good for you and so easy to toss into smoothies, on top of salads, yogurt, etc.

Expert Tips & FAQ:

Can I use any milk? Yep! Use any plant-based milk or even dairy milk if you’re not vegan.

Can I use ground ginger? If you don’t have fresh ginger, then use 1/2 tsp powder.

How can I make this more filling? If you want to add even more protein add some Vanilla Protein.
