carrotsoup Did someone say Healthy Carrot Soup?  Just in time for fall, and in 20 minutes.  This probably seems like a dream, but I promise you it is reality. All you need for this healthy, plant based and gluten, dairy and sugar free soup is your ingredients, a medium sauce pan, and a high speed blender. Not only is this soup wicked easy, but is is lusciously perfect.  It embodies everything you need in a soup.  I speak on behalf of people who do not like cooked carrots (ME) when I say that this soup is the real deal.  I would never eat Carrot soup normally, but this dish made by Andrew is the one.

I did!  It is the perfect "gloomy weather" dinner! Speaking of weather, this weather here in Calgary has been ridiculous (I am not one to moan about weather unless I am in England but seriously WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING).  Where is (was) summer YYC? Basically what I am saying is that when the weather is basically shit I crave really homey foods that are healthy, and nourishing.  Similar to this dish!

Recipe: Buckwheat Crust Pizza

Good morning beauties!! I cannot even believe that the title of this post is what it is.  I got an email last week from a super sweet girl interning at Food Network Canada asking to partake in an article she is curating.  Bronwyn is putting together - click the link ---> 8 Expert Tips for For Instagram, and she has asked Notable Instagram Canadian Foodies to partake! I cannot.  I am so honoured, truly honoured.  There is really no other word to use to describe how I felt when I read her email.  Well I cried.  So if an-emotinal-mess counts as a word then yep, that is it! IMG_2633 Good Morning hunnies, as promised I have for you the recipe for this seriously delicious pasta bowl.  I honestly went into this eyes closed, with no expectations.  I wanted to use up my purple cauliflower, so I rummaged through my pantry and found Amaranth pasta and thought to myself... why not a chunky veg pasta bowl! I think my favourite part of cooking and experimenting in the kitchen is that it really souths my soul.  As much as I don't like talking about it I am really busy and on-the-go these days, so I really have no time for myself, ever.  Cooking just really keeps my spirit alive, and it especially wakes my senses why it turns out so beautifully.
IMG_2385 Hey guys! Here is my last recipe for this fine Monday then I am off to get some groceries from the market, gym and the bank!!! Woo!! But before I do that I wanted to give you all this amazing recipe that has been helping me a lot with dealing with inflammation in my body.  As most of you know I currently suffer from Ovarian cysts, but that is not the only thing that causes my body to become inflamed and bloated. I work on my feet 5 days a week, walking up to 16km a day (just at work), I go to the gym and lift heavy 6 days a week, I am a woman so we retain water really easily - especially when were on our cycle, and lastly because I am human and I get stressed out from life.
IMG_2091 Hey everyone!! Can you believe it is already February 18th!!!! I can because that means I get to see my babe soon!! Holy hannah, I am usually not okay with time flying but lately I have really been missing being with my other half, so I am okay with it right now. Time can slow back down when he arrives back in Canada (selfish I know, but don't you find the first 3 months of the year really fly by anyway). So on Tuesday I had the day off from work - this is very rare - so I took full advantage of my day and did loads of errands, made some delicious recipes, visited family and hit up the gym and did my 5th day of Intense Cardio.. and afterwards I was REALLLY craving something Asian Dish inspired, so I popped my head into my fridge and grabbed anything and everything I could work with.
Cauliflower Good morning lovelies!!! Here I have for you is yet another desirable, and healthy pizza recipe.  Sorry again for only having one picture of it, but if I am honest I did not have much time these days to take many pictures.  Having two jobs, a blog, going gym everyday, charity work, and more on the go has proven to be quite testing, but it is nothing I cannot juggle - but this is why you only get to feast on one photo (for now, anyway). It is actually quite funny, when I made this pizza I was like "nah, there is no way you're going to eat this all in one go, Maria.  It is huge." Buuutttttt then I did, and then I was like "uh oh".  It was not a sigh of regret or shame but more like holy crap, how did I just do that, and I still feel like a ninja?!?!
Hiya everyone! Hope were all doing good.  Earlier this week I spent a good chunk of time creating some really yummy side dishes which include my newest addiction! The Minimalist Baker "Vegan Parmesan Cheese", its made from four ingredients, and if you're interested in eating more plant based this year then this stuff is so perfect for you! and for those of you who just want to try something new and wicked!
