Pastry Sheets: You’ll usually find these in the freezer section with pie shells and other pastries in your grocery store. Just make sure to defrost them before using them.
Chocolate: Use regular, milk chocolate or a piece of your favorite chocolate bar if you want to get real creative.
How to make cruffins:
- Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package directions.
- Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a muffin tin with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets to about 8×10 inch rectangles.
- Brush each sheet of puff pastry with melted butter.
- With a knife or pizza cutter, cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 strips (cut from the long end so the strips will be about 2.5 inch wide and 8 inches long). Place a piece of chocolate at the short end of a strip of pastry and roll the chocolate into each strip.
- Set each puff pastry roll into a muffin tin and brush with an egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water).
- Bake in the oven on the centre rack for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooled, dust with icing sugar and enjoy!
