Ingredients:

Jackfruit: Carotenoids, the pigments that give jackfruit its yellow color are high in vitamin A, and just like other antioxidants, they can help protect cells from damage and help your body work right.

Tzatziki: A delicious, creamy cucumber sauce/dip that I use on everything as the Greek goddess that I am. Buy premade at the grocery store or make it yourself with this recipe.

Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt: For this recipe I used Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt. It is my go-to salt to have on hand as it’s high quality, and full of flavor.

Gyro fries with jackfruit

How to make gyro fries with jackfruit toppings:

  1. Add the jackfruit, olive oil, lemon juice, and ALL of the spices to a large pot.
  2. Cook the jackfruit over medium-high heat for 30 – 45 minutes until tender and flavor absorbs.
  3. As you cook the jackfruit, stir every few minutes and add splashes of water to allow to tenderize properly. You want the consistency to be like pulled chicken.
  4. When the jackfruit is almost done cooking, prepare your homemade OR premade fries and all of the other ingredients.
  5. Once the fries are hot and ready, combine the steak seasoning and oregano.
  6. Toss the fried in the seasoning and then transfer to a large serving dish.
  7. Add and stack ALL of the other prepared fry toppings along with the jackfruit.
  8. Serve immediately with FRESH TZATZIKI! You will be SPEECHLESS!

I made these. Even cut and cooked the potatoes for the fries. They were so flavorful and delicious. My family lived them and we ate every bite.
