No seriously though, this post is going to be bananas because it’s not just filled with my delicious vegan-friendly Fried Banana Recipe, but I’m also providing you with five of my favourite ways to use bananas, including additional recipes. Have bananas going bad? Have too many in your house to handle? This guide will help you use them up in the best possible way.
Why you should love bananas
For this Fried Banana Recipe, I used Chiquita Bananas because they are my fav. I can always count on them for a quality fruit that I can use in this recipe, eat on their own, or incorporate into other yummy recipes. How to make my Fried Banana Recipe
This recipe is really simple to make. All you do is throw on some coconut oil in a pan for 30 seconds on high. Then you’ll half the bananas lengthwise and gently place them into the hot, oiled pan and cook them for only two and a half minutes per side. What I love to use these fried bananas for is to put on top of my morning oatmeal and sprinkle with a touch of brown sugar, or your other favourite toppings like peanut butter, nuts, chia seeds, or whatever your fav oatmeal toppings are.
You can also use this recipe to put on top of pancakes, desserts, eat them on their own, and get creative. Like I’ve said before, bananas are so versatile, making them really easy to incorporate into your daily diet.

In case you needed some more inspiration on how to incorporate bananas into your everyday diet, I’ve added some of my favourite tips and recipes to get you started.
Whip them up
I bet you don’t really think to do this with bananas but it’s a great way to mix them into recipes. One great example of using whipped bananas is in my Banana Bread Granola. This article also has some great ideas for how to eliminate food waste by using bananas too! For this granola recipe, I mashed bananas up and added them to my heated coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract, before pouring it over my dry granola ingredients and baking this delicious granola up. This granola will store for a while in an airtight container and it’s so damn good on yogurt, on its own, with milk, with fruit, whatever you want!
Blend those bad boys
Yep, you may already know this tip. Blending up bananas into smoothies or other juices can be a great way to use up those bananas you have on your counter and reap the benefits of adding them into your diet. Bananas go good in almost any smoothie you’re making and can be great for thickening up your smoothies too.
Have bananas on hand at all times by freezing them to throw in smoothies, baking, etc. All you need to do is cut up your bananas how you like them, put them on a lined baking tray, and place them in your freezer. Once they’re frozen, you can take them off the tray and throw them in a freezer bag or container for better storage.
We’re going back to the frying. Use the recipe that I’ve included in this post for making the best-fried bananas. Like I said, you can throw these on anything or eat them on their own. It’s amazing how frying bananas can really give a unique twist to your regular, plain bananas you’re used to.
This one seems like a no brainer. Baking with bananas is soo good! I recently made these yummy Banana Bread Muffins that are so yummy and perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or snack. This recipe is so easy to make and what I love about it is that most of the ingredients you’ll likely already have in your pantry!
Of course, you can eat a banana the old school way, but I’m talking about adding raw bananas into your recipes too like I did in this bomb Banoffee Pie. This recipe looks incredibly impressive, but it’s not hard to pull together. The crust is made with nuts and dates, making it gluten-free, then the layers of banana, caramel, and coconut milk whipped cream makes it melt in your mouth. This is the perfect dessert for your next dinner party, pot luck, or just to eat it all for yourself (no judgement).

This vegan Fried Banana Recipe is so simple to make & tastes good when thrown on top of just about anything. Your morning oatmeal, ice cream, you name it!
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 Chiquita Banana, cut length-wise
1 tsp brown sugar
In a medium cast-iron skillet heat the coconut oil for 30 seconds before adding the banana cut side down.
Cook on medium heat for 2.5 minutes on each side. Once flipped, lightly dust with brown sugar.
Enjoy with porridge oats, with cake, muffins or even with ice cream!
